We tried to keep Landyn's birthday smaller this year with having a baby 3 weeks ago. We plan to alternate BIG birthday parties with smaller, family birthday lunches each year.
One other way we were able to let her celebrate was to bring cupcakes to her school for snack time. We walked in a little early and found our sleeping beauty...
But when everyone woke up, Miss Shay helped us deliver Butterfly Cupcakes to Landyn and her friends!
Homemade Butterfly Cupcakes (Landyn's request)
Then we had a family birthday lunch for her. Gruncle Russel did all the cooking (BBQ chicken, mac n cheese and beans) and it was yummy! Mommy made flower cupcakes (Landyn's request) which actually turned out really tasty!

Landyn,
We love you more than you will ever know and always will, no matter what! You are turning into a beautiful little girl and are one of the smartest two-year-olds we know. Not only are you beautiful on the outside, you have the sweetest personality, hilarious sense of humor and you find laughter and happiness in the most simple of things. You learn so fast and absolutely LOVE to sing. You even make up your own words to tunes that you already know. We help you with that as Mommy rocks you to sleep every night with a few songs - ones we know and some that we make up. You pull your pants down before you get to the potty and then say "Don't bite my hiney!" You will do anything for candy or ice cream, but you will eat almost anything. And "trying" new things is something you have mastered! Colring, using your stamps and playing outside with water are your favorite things to do - even though you have a whole room dedicated to your toys! We are impressed that you know all of your colors, shapes (and number of sides), how to do puzzles, read 'Mommy, Daddy and Landyn'. you love for Mommy to draw pictures and for Daddy to play dinosaurs with you on the bed! You love to help with all of the chores, except for vacuuming! You are an expert at loading and unloading the dishwasher, helping with the laundry, cooking any and everything and making coffee each morning (and picking everyone's cup). You love to negotiate to your advantage (especially at bedtime) in all situations and challenge us each day! Bedtime is your least favorite time of the day unless you are able to sleep in your parents' bed - which had to change once Lane arrived. Becoming a big sister has been such an easy transition for you and you have adjusted so well! You love your baby brother more than we thought was possible from a two year old. You tell him "I love you Baby Lane" all the time and are constantly kissing his head and tickling him (even when he sleeps). You have shown no sign of jealousy except when Mommy holds Lane, you want me to hold you too - which I'm honored to do! You ask for your friends and family members by name even if you haven't seen them in a while. You can associate your friends by their parents' and siblings' names too! ou know who belongs to which family :) You also ask to go to church often, even if it's not Sunday. You have learned your bedtime prayer with ease and have learned to bow your head to say "Grace" and remind us that we need to pray before we eat each night! You are always smiling and so extremely happy and we thank God each day that he gave you to us, as you are a perfect fit for our family! We pray that you continue to grow into a healthy, successful, God-loving woman and that you keep a positive relationship with us along the way.
We love you soooooo much, Landyn Juliet! Happy SECOND Birthday sweet girl.
Love, Mommy and Daddy
