Landyn Turns T-W-O

We tried to keep Landyn's birthday smaller this year with having a baby 3 weeks ago. We plan to alternate BIG birthday parties with smaller, family birthday lunches each year.

One other way we were able to let her celebrate was to bring cupcakes to her school for snack time. We walked in a little early and found our sleeping beauty...

But when everyone woke up, Miss Shay helped us deliver Butterfly Cupcakes to Landyn and her friends!

Homemade Butterfly Cupcakes (Landyn's request)

Then we had a family birthday lunch for her. Gruncle Russel did all the cooking (BBQ chicken, mac n cheese and beans) and it was yummy! Mommy made flower cupcakes (Landyn's request) which actually turned out really tasty!

Landyn loves to feed Lane! She is such a big help!!

He usually just chills

The balloons Nana brought were a BIG hit!

Landyn's "BIG" gift from Mommy, daddy and Lane (A Princess Barbie car)!

Still chillin out

Time to make a wish!

Excited to blow out both candles!

So proud!

"Look, Mommy, No hands!"

Very tiring day! And so worth it!!!!
Landyn,
We love you more than you will ever know and always will, no matter what! You are turning into a beautiful little girl and are one of the smartest two-year-olds we know. Not only are you beautiful on the outside, you have the sweetest personality, hilarious sense of humor and you find laughter and happiness in the most simple of things. You learn so fast and absolutely LOVE to sing. You even make up your own words to tunes that you already know. We help you with that as Mommy rocks you to sleep every night with a few songs - ones we know and some that we make up. You pull your pants down before you get to the potty and then say "Don't bite my hiney!" You will do anything for candy or ice cream, but you will eat almost anything. And "trying" new things is something you have mastered! Colring, using your stamps and playing outside with water are your favorite things to do - even though you have a whole room dedicated to your toys! We are impressed that you know all of your colors, shapes (and number of sides), how to do puzzles, read 'Mommy, Daddy and Landyn'. you love for Mommy to draw pictures and for Daddy to play dinosaurs with you on the bed! You love to help with all of the chores, except for vacuuming! You are an expert at loading and unloading the dishwasher, helping with the laundry, cooking any and everything and making coffee each morning (and picking everyone's cup). You love to negotiate to your advantage (especially at bedtime) in all situations and challenge us each day! Bedtime is your least favorite time of the day unless you are able to sleep in your parents' bed - which had to change once Lane arrived. Becoming a big sister has been such an easy transition for you and you have adjusted so well! You love your baby brother more than we thought was possible from a two year old. You tell him "I love you Baby Lane" all the time and are constantly kissing his head and tickling him (even when he sleeps). You have shown no sign of jealousy except when Mommy holds Lane, you want me to hold you too - which I'm honored to do! You ask for your friends and family members by name even if you haven't seen them in a while. You can associate your friends by their parents' and siblings' names too! ou know who belongs to which family :) You also ask to go to church often, even if it's not Sunday. You have learned your bedtime prayer with ease and have learned to bow your head to say "Grace" and remind us that we need to pray before we eat each night! You are always smiling and so extremely happy and we thank God each day that he gave you to us, as you are a perfect fit for our family! We pray that you continue to grow into a healthy, successful, God-loving woman and that you keep a positive relationship with us along the way.

We love you soooooo much, Landyn Juliet! Happy SECOND Birthday sweet girl.
Love, Mommy and Daddy

Baby Lane

Baby Lane has been a several times a day topic of conversation in the Roberts home. We weren't sure how Landyn would take the reality of having a baby brother move in for good, but she has done so well and is in LOVE with her baby brother! We are blessed :)
Sweet sister :)

Meeting Rachel!

Ready to work in the garage with Daddy and Landyn

Loves bath time!

Daddy and Lane have the Ultimate "set up" for a good day!

For the Love of Food

Once a week in the morning I take Landyn to Riley's Donuts to pick out one donut and share some donut holes. She LOVES food and especially anything with sugar!

She also LOVES to help cook any and everything she can. One night she helped her Daddy make pizza! Such a humble face-haha!

Visit From Ba!

Our wonderful "Ba" came for a long weekend visit to meet Baby Lane and practically give her soul to us! Thank you Shelly, for the food, gift of sleep, a date night and fabulous pedi! And the water table for Landyn's BDay! We love and miss you! Wish you lived closer :)

After we came home from a lovely date night, we found this little sleeping beauty in our bed! Sneaky girl :)

We were able to take Landyn to do ceramics at The Glazery in Missouri City. It was so fun for us to take her and make her feel special! She picked a frog and a butterfly box.
Such an inviting entrance!

Ba gave Landyn a water table for her BDay present which we opened early so Ba could see her gift in action (with cousin Jakob who visited for a day and night)!

Landyn has converted the water table into her personal swimming pool!

The kids played with Ba's game while we waited for Grandma Goshorn's 70th Birthday lunch. They did so well taking tuns!

While Ba got her turn with Lane :)

After several attempts for a good "grandkid" shot, we got Jake's foot!

Lunch for Grandma's 70th at Maggianos was a hit! The kids were very sweet :)

And someone wanted to be a part of picture taking so we bribed her to "cheese" (holding the camera lense cover) and them let her shoot a couple :)

Thanks for visiting Ba! We can't wait until you come back!!!
