Firsts

First off - this post will be a combination of several recent events in one.

The first is Landyn's first day of daycare (January 4th). The goes to the Goddard School in Pearland. We chose this facility due to the location (very near my school) and the recommendations from parents and teachers I've talked with. When we walked in we felt very comfortable and the teachers seem very trustworthy and in love with the children.

On her first day I had to wake her up for the first time in her life (at 6:30). So...she looked a little rough that first day because she was tired and we were so anxious to make sure we had her there with everything she needed (I forgot to brush her hair not that it would have helped!) LOL

She had a great first day and first week. On Wednesday she had her 15 month check up and got 3 vaccinations :( Her measurements were 21.5 lbs (25%) and 33 inches tall (110%). Looks like we have a super model on our hands ;) On Thursday they called and said she had a fever. I went to pick her up and later that night we ended up in the E.R. for the first time in her life (we made it 15 months) with a fever at 107! Obviously, she had an infection (they diagnosed her with an ear infection) and gave her a shot and antibiotics. She will be finished with those in 10 days (only 3 days to go).
She is doing much better now, but has conformed to a new "wake-up" time around 6 (boooo!). She also is so worn out at the end of the day and starts to climb in her crib saying "Night, night" before her bedtime (that's a first).
So with many firsts in the past 2 weeks we have been so thankful that everything is on a routine and Landyn is on her way to medicine-free days. She loves "school" and they love her too.
